Chances are, Gaga will never get behind anything as authentically populist as Occupy Wall Street.  Why?  Because as Forbes pointed out, she’s the highest earning music celeb there is—more powerful than Oprah!  She’s absolutely not interested in supporting the economic wellbeing of the 1%.  (In fact, the lyrics to an early version of “Born This Way” touted the value of “free enterprise”).  

Miley on the other hand seems to agree with MLK that “We should always anchor our external direct action with the power of economic withdrawal.”  Don’t forget, Miley took on Urban Outfitters for their anti-gay politics.  Gaga would never say anything bad about a corporation.

Miley’s music isn’t our thing, but we’re glad she seems to understand how the world works.
